Water Testing

How many homes have well water, anyway?

The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that about 13 million Americans get their drinking water from a private well, a structure drilled into the earth that draws up groundwater to use for drinking, bathing, washing clothes, watering plants, and more. Because that water is coming right out of the ground, there is always a chance that it could be carrying harmful chemicals, bacteria, and more.

Available Water Tests

Home Inspector Pro Water Test

Test the water in any building through certified labs and the fastest turnaround times in the industry.

The report you’ll receive will be compliant with FHA / VA requirements for home loans as well as the great majority of bank / state requirements. A digital signed letter from the laboratory is included with your report, certifying the results.

Home Inspector Pro Water Test (Upgraded)

Test the water in any building through certified labs with the fastest turnaround time in the industry.

This is the pre-upgraded version of the Home Inspector Pro Water Test. The results for this include a broader range of parameters than the basic test, and still comply with FHA / VA requirements and those of the great majority of lending institutions and states.

Coliform and E.Coli Screen

Bacteria Testing is performed in a professional laboratory and analyzes a drinking water sample for potentially harmful bacteria indicators.

Full Microbiology Screen

Your report will include quantified results for various species of microbiological organisms identified living in your water sample, including but not limited to:

E.Coli, Coliform bacteria, Legionella, Pseudomonas, Streptococcus, Clostridium, Heliobacter Pylori, Sphingomonas, Klebsiella, Staphylococcus, And more…

Full Radiation Screen

According to a recent investigative report by our friends at Environmental Working Group (EWG), more than 170 million Americans drink tap water contaminated by radiation. Long term exposure to low levels of radiation in drinking water is a serious health hazard, especially for pregnant women.

This package tests your water for Alpha Radiation and Beta Radiation from any source, including Radium, Radon, Uranium, and Strontium.

GenX and PFAS Test (EPA 537.1)

This water testing package includes targeted laboratory analysis for PFAS compounds & GenX in drinking water. GenX is otherwise known as chemical compound Hexafluoropropylene Oxide Dimer Acid (HFPO-DA) CAS # 13252-13-6. GenX has gained attention in recent years, after the widely reported chemical spill at the Chemours Fayetteville Works in North Carolina, GenX has subsequently been detected in nearby water supplies and is therefor a cause for concern.

This test is for anyone who wants a private laboratory to determine whether traces of the PFAS compounds including HFPO- DA, (sometimes referred to as “Gen X” or “C3 dimer”) are present in their drinking water.

Glyphosate and Byproducts Screen

In addition to direct laboratory testing of glyphosate this package also includes laboratory analysis of AMPA (aminomethylphosphonic acid) which is the primary degradation byproduct of glyphosate in water.

Glyphosate is a broad-spectrum systemic herbicide and crop desiccant. It’s also known as Roundup. While data on the health effects of Glyphosate is still scarce, some customers choose to test their water for this chemical to know whether they are being exposed.

Lead and Copper Screen

This test is designed as a fast laboratory-precision screen for Lead, Copper, and pH.

Radon Only Screen

Radon is a known carcinogen with a particular impact on internal organs and the stomach. Various US states suggest safe levels for radon in drinking water range from 300 to 10,000 pCi/L. This lab-based radon water screen includes everything you need to quickly sample, send, and lab-analyze, your tap water for radon. The radon reporting includes a clear breakdown of what your radon levels mean for you health as well as easy treatment options if necessary.

Radon Only Test

In wells used for drinking water the EPA recommends testing for radon. Radon is a known carcinogen with a particular impact on internal organs and the stomach. Various states suggest safe levels for radon in drinking water range from 300 to 10,000 pCi/L. This lab-based radon water test includes everything needed to properly sample, send, and lab-analyze, your tap water for radon.

Silica Only Test

The presence of silica in groundwater is a common issue for new well owners. Silica enters a water supply from the natural weathering of silicate minerals in the soil. Fortunately, silica causes no harmful health effects to humans, but large amounts can cause scaling in pipes and impact a home’s overall water flow and infrastructure in other ways.

Silica may also interfere with iron and manganese water treatment and removal.

VOC Screen

This package tests your water for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) using the EPA Method 524.2. Many of these parameters are significant health risks and can migrate into your drinking water from a variety of sources such as:

Chlorine disinfection
, Proximity to waste facilities
, Proximity to agricultural activity
, Proximity to oil and gas activity
, Decayed plastic plumbing
, Other sources of organic contaminants
